Some time ago I stumbled across the modern flat-earth movement and filed it with all the other crackpot conspiracy theories, but it just kept popping up like a dead pixel in the corner of your screen, it may have been there years unnoticed but now you've seen it and it sits there glaring at you. So I read into it and the more I did so the more ridiculous it all seemed, I had so many questions and every answer just lead to more questions. I know the earth is a globe and this flat earth stuff is nothing more than pseudoscience but just like a car crash I had to keep watching.

I have no problem with anyone believing whatever they like, but these flat earthers seem to think they are the enlightened ones and the rest of the world are either dumb sheep believing whatever lies they are told or New World Order types controlling what the sheep believe. Many of the flat earthers have taken to YouTube to produce innumerable video’s “proving” their theories with hours of misguided research that inexplicably contains no evidence what so ever. They seem so encumbered by their own poor education and/or imagination that they need to compensate by making their point as loud and as clumsily as is humanly possible. I don’t see any harm in anyone going on-line and openly making a fool of themselves, but these people go out of their way to degrade the work of brilliant minds and insult anyone who disagrees with them. The methods and persistence of these flat earthers make their opinions potentially damaging to the collective intelligence of the population.

With this blog, I hope to dispel some of the myths and drag some of the theories into the cold, hard light of science. I freely admit I have no degree but I have a good understanding of the scientific method and endeavour to be open and honest with all my findings. I know I will never change the mind of a fully-fledged flat-earther, but I can at least help those that have been left doubting what they know and steer them in the right direction.
